Meet the Founder

Andy is a degreed Industrial Engineer and tool designer. With over 30 years of
experience running a manufacturing company, serving many industries world-wide. He
and his team have achieved many awards for quality and maintain the international
quality standard, ISO 9001. His passion for violin started as a young boy, inspired by his
uncle John, a violin player and all around musician. Playing the violin has always been a
part of Andy’s life, playing various genres of music. Hours of playing with neck and
shoulder strain and a desire to “find a better way to do things”, led to the creation of
Forma-Rest.

Andy’s wish for you: “ I hope the Forma-Rest will improve your experience when
playing the violin and allow you to continue playing your entire life !”
Andy has plans to give back to the violin world that has brought him so much joy : “we
plan to set aside a sizeable portion of our sales so we can donate Forma-rests to schools
that have string programs. So many young kids are discouraged with playing the violin
because of difficulties with holding the instrument.”
